University of Pennsylvania – Chemistry 1973 Building

Philadelphia, PA

The Class of 1973 Chemistry building is an early 1970’s concrete structure with brick panels inset between concrete piers. The epoxy-coated rebar in the concrete had deteriorated in areas which required us to demolish the surrounding concrete to reveal the rebar so it could be treated to arrest corrosion before patching the area and staining it to match the surrounding masonry. There was also brick pointing at the low wall at the base of the building and coping stone replacement.
