2000 North Broad Street Philadelphia
In August of 2016, a vehicle involved in a high-speed chase missed a turn and skidded into the brownstone steps at a Temple fraternity house. The historic steps were completely destroyed. As the building is on the historic registry, the steps are to be recreated as closely to the original as possible. This includes sourcing the replacement stone from China and having it all cut to size and carved by a local stone carver to recreate the decorative elements of the original. All new concrete footers were poured and the new stone is to be installed when the carving is complete. The project is expected to be completed in the spring of 2019.
